R&D Center / After-sales Product Development Engineer Yu Youyang

I was honored to become a member of the IHI Sullair family in 2023. When I first entered the workplace, I was arranged to do a one-month internship in the workshop according to the job requirements. At the beginning of the internship, everything was full of freshness, but as time went on, facing the limited workshop environment, I inevitably felt a bit monotonous and seemed to have fewer things to learn. However, when I asked experienced colleagues for advice with questions, a whole new world opened up before me - those details that I thought I was already familiar with actually contained great knowledge. For example, the material type of a certain accessory is not a single option, but I mistakenly believed that it was the only configuration because the material I initially encountered was relatively common, ignoring the diversity of materials. In addition, the copper pipes on the gas pipeline seem similar, but in fact, their diameters and functions are different. If you are not careful, it is easy to confuse them. These experiences made me realize that learning professional knowledge should never stop. We should not only practice hands-on, observe physical objects, but also be diligent in consulting drawings, emphasizing both theory and practice. At the same time, the power of selfless sharing and full support among colleagues is invaluable, and the harmonious and supportive working atmosphere within the company makes people feel warm and comfortable.

What impressed me most was the youthful vitality and team spirit displayed by IHI Sullair. Last year, the company held a fun sports meeting where employees from different departments were mixed into teams and worked together to complete the game. Many foreign colleagues, including General Manager Nakamura and Engineering Center Manager Tanaka, also actively participated in team interactions. The tacit understanding and enthusiasm across languages vividly illustrated the united and vigorous corporate style of IHI Sullair.

As a young employee of the company, I am full of hope for the future of IHI Shouli. I sincerely hope that the company will flourish and achieve great success. I also look forward to the improvement of after-sales business through the cooperation between our engineering department and after-sales department. At the same time, I also eagerly look forward to the completion and production of Su Xiangxin's factory, and the company's continuous breakthroughs in expanding in the large centrifuge market.

Sales Center/Sales Engineer Fu Tao

I have been working at IHI Sullair for two years. During this time, sales work has given me a sense of youth and achievement, and unforgettable experiences abound. To this day, I still remember the experience of a certain project: the project was about to start foundation construction based on the drawings of competitors, but faced with such adversity, our sales team did not give up easily. With an unyielding tenacity, we finally succeeded in turning the tide and won the project with our own technical strength and professional team services. This tough battle vividly demonstrated the unique fighting spirit and determination of our young people, and also made me deeply feel the boiling youthful blood and infinite vitality of the IHI Sullair sales team.

In my sales work, I have become increasingly aware of the importance of cross-departmental collaboration. Whenever it comes to a critical moment, our partners in the engineering department always lend a helping hand without hesitation. In order to meet every subtle need of our customers, they are willing to sacrifice their personal time and work late into the night to draw up drawings. Our colleagues in the production department also regard the factory as their home and work against the clock to assemble and test equipment to ensure the accuracy of every link. Our after-sales engineers are even more fearless and work on the front line, debugging machines on-site for customers until they run perfectly. All of this embodies the love and dedication of IHI Sullair people to their work. Their presence is the most vivid interpretation of the company's youthful style - it is a spirit of courage, challenge, and never-say-die, a youthful storm filled with passion and sweat.

HR & Administration Department/Personnel Administration Specialist - Ge Wanlan

My first task after joining IHI Sullair in February last year was to prepare for the company's 5000th compressor off-line ceremony and the annual Spring Festival dinner. It was a very fulfilling period. Although there were some flaws in the process, with the help of all colleagues in our department, the result was very satisfactory. Because of this process, I quickly became familiar with the faces of my colleagues. Their friendliness, optimism, and fearlessness of difficulties made me feel that the company is like a young person in their prime, full of ambition. From my work perspective, it must be in various team-building activities, such as annual travel and Frisbee team-building. Outside of the daily rigorous and fulfilling work scene, in every time we devoted ourselves to the game, I could feel the enthusiasm and vitality of our IHI Sullair.

Quality Department/Assistant Quality Engineer - Cai Wenqi:

As a new colleague who has joined IHI Sullair for less than two years, my most memorable moment may be during the first three months or so after I joined the company. Because I was just getting familiar with the company's business and there were many things I was not familiar with, I often went to consult colleagues and leaders. Whenever I had questions, everyone would patiently guide me and provide guidance and help. This allowed me to quickly improve my work ability and learn a lot of new knowledge. The selfless sharing and patient guidance of colleagues and leaders in the company are the most memorable things for me. In addition to work, the company also organizes many colorful cultural and sports activities, which not only release the vitality and vigor of everyone, but also allow everyone to relax to some extent. The colorful cultural and sports activities of the company make me feel that the company is like a young man who loves communication and sports, full of youthful spirit. Today is the first day of 2024. On the occasion of the arrival of the New Year, I would like to wish you all a happy New Year!

At the beginning of this year, I would like to take this opportunity to look back the year 2023 and then address about the future.

Looking back on 2023

As we stand on the threshold of a new year, it gives me great pleasure to look back on 2023, a year that was undeniably filled with challenges.

The slowing down of the Chinese economy, geographical tensions such as the conflict in Ukraine, and the US-China conflict, have all presented significant obstacles. These global events have tested our resilience and determination, but we have faced these challenges head-on.

Despite these adversities, I am incredibly proud of the adjustments we've made to stay on track and meet our targets. I am thrilled to announce that we have achieved a significant milestone last year by delivering 5000 units. This achievement is a testament to our commitment and dedication.

Furthermore, the opening of our Chengdu office in March has expanded our service capabilities, demonstrating our unwavering dedication to growth and development. And let's not forget the construction of our new factory, which is progressing on schedule. These are remarkable achievements that I take great pride in, particularly considering the difficulties we faced this year.

At this juncture, I would like to express my profound appreciation to all my employees for your tireless efforts. Your hard work, commitment, and passion have been the driving forces behind our success, and I am deeply grateful.

Prospect to 2024 & beyond 

As we look forward to 2024 and beyond, I am filled with anticipation and optimism.

Based on our mother company, IHI Rotating Machinery Engineering’s midterm plan, we have a clear vision of our path forward.

We understand the big picture, we acknowledge our history, and we are excited to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our company and the inauguration of our new factory and moreover excited to achieve delivery of 6000 units within 2024.

Yes, we are facing strong headwinds and an uncertain situation so we need to closely monitor the real situation to realize our goals.

However, there is no need to be pessimistic. The growth potential of the Chinese economy, our largest market, is significant. They are aiming to double the per capita income, which offers us a tremendous opportunity.

Another reason for optimism is you, our employees. Your attitude, commitment, and dedication are what drives this company forward.

Given our large capabilities, and with the right attitude, there is no limit to what we can achieve.

Reflecting back, when I was in charge of Chinese market as Sales 20 years ago, just when IHI-Sullair was established, we sold 20 units of compressors to China. At that time, I have never imagined that we would develop so rapidly. I have never imagined that we would grow so quickly, and now we are moving further into bigger market for wider business.

In addition, addressing about the career and life of our employees, I feel a deep responsibility. I wish to create an environment where you can fully exercise your potential, and I am committed to making that happen.  

To achieve our 2024 target goal, we need to maintain the right attitude.

"One Team" which is a concept in Japan, an idea that emphasizes of working together as unified group towards a common goal and I believe this concept is now our key word.  We should build a stronger teamwork by celebrating each other’s success, learning from our failures, especially during these challenging times, and progress together towards a shared vision.

Gao Shengquan

Parts Logistics Supervisor of After-sales Department

This year is the 15th year for Gao Shengquan to join IHI Sully. He is widely known in the blog as "Gao Ren" by his colleagues. As a senior employee of IHI Sullair, Gao Shengquan always adheres to a rigorous and meticulous work style. He has always put the concept of "wholeheartedly providing efficient and high-quality service to customers" throughout the daily after-sales parts work.

Through active inter-departmental communication, he formulated and implemented the localization of parts storage in a timely manner, and effectively promoted the implementation of IHI Sullair parts inventory rationalization management objectives. And ensure the timely contact with agents and customers, and coordinate the spare parts inventory in all regions. At the same time, he will also collect suggestions from all parties on parts logistics and actively implement targeted and effective improvements.

Gao Shengquan said that he was honored and proud to be elected as an outstanding employee of the company. He will continue to work hard on the logistics management of parts and do a good job in the logistics support of parts.

Jiang Jin

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer of Engineering Department

As a professional design engineer, Jiang Jin is unprepared for his solid engineering theoretical foundation, comprehensive design knowledge and rich project experience. He is trusted by everyone with his excellent professional level and down-to-earth working attitude.

Jiang Jin believes that in engineering design, we must adhere to the "spirit of craftsman" and optimize the design to the extreme. He carefully improved the design of each project and patiently handled every detail of the project. In his daily work, he not only insisted on doing his own work well, but also checked the design drawings together with his colleagues in the design team, put forward effective improvement plans, and repeatedly properly solved the key and difficult points in the mechanical design project.

After being elected as an excellent employee of the Engineering Department for several years, he was re-elected as an outstanding employee of the company. Jiang Jin's strict requirements on himself kept him moving forward. He is very grateful for the company's recognition of his work, and will continue his love of design and transform it into a commitment to the project.

Liu Na

Accounting of Finance Department

Liu Na is a professional cost accountant, and her motto is "meticulous and conscientious".

Cost management, report submission, industry association verification, internal control evaluation... Liu Na's workload is large and difficult to count in detail. Although the task is heavy, she can be busy and orderly in the actual work. In terms of cost management, she strives for accurate accounting and refined cost management. While improving the financial support capability, it also strengthens the financial management energy efficiency. Due to the strong professionalism of the financial work, in the face of the constantly changing external environment, Liu Na has constantly strengthened her professional knowledge learning, improved the level of business knowledge and skills, and kept pace with the times.

Rooted in data and reports, Liu Na saved a lot of costs for the company and ensured the smooth development of all businesses with her patience and care, preciseness and seriousness. Xiao Rong

Production technical engineer of production department

Xiao Rong is a technical expert at the production site. He has made practical contributions to the improvement of the factory's production process and production efficiency.

Xiao Rong was honored to be elected as an outstanding employee for the second time in five years. At work, he is full every day and feels that time flies. Although he sometimes encountered some bottlenecks in the daily work of production technology, he never thought of giving up. Moreover, with the constant support and help of leaders and colleagues, he will always overcome these difficulties one by one. These experiences are his most proud. He actively communicated with all departments, did a good job in collecting and feedback all kinds of technical information, and was good at summarizing experience and applying advanced processes and technologies to production, which formed a virtuous circle and realized the improvement of production efficiency.

Xiao Rong said that in the future, he will continue to make unremitting efforts to improve the production efficiency and process of the company's front-line, and do a good job of internal and external communication to ensure the smooth and efficient development of production work.

Zhang Lixing

Quality inspector of Quality Department

Zhang Lixing, the quality inspector, is a good doctor of IHI Sullair compressor.

He is mainly responsible for supervising the operation of the compressor during the test to ensure the smooth progress of the whole machine test. After the completion of the test, we should also carefully complete the final inspection before sales for each delivered machine to ensure that each delivered compressor has the high quality recognized by IHI Sullair. He has professional product quality inspection ability, good analysis and research ability, serious attitude, meticulous and rigorous work, strict quality control, and plays a very positive role in improving the overall quality of the company's products.

Zhang Lixing said that during the 13 years of working in the company, as an inspector, it is his responsibility to ensure the quality of the whole machine as always. As a quality inspector, "don't let the work be delayed in my hands, and don't let mistakes happen around me" is his basic idea. In the future, he will also continue to work hard, take the past achievements as a new starting point, and effectively ensure that the quality inspection work is completed with high quality and efficiency under the premise of high standards and strict requirements.

Since ancient times, there is no shortcut to success, and steel can only be made after repeated tempering. Outstanding employees regard work as their pursuit and excellence as their goal.
